A Biography

Joshua Blake Hargrove was born April 9, 1984 in Beaumont, Texas, to his parents John and Leisa Hargrove.

He went to be with Jesus Christ on June 22, 2002 in Buna, Texas, in an automobile accident near his home.

Joshua, fresh from a mission trip, giving kids a ride home on a Friday night from a bible study, drives along Hwy 62. A truck crosses into Joshua’s lane and they head on. Both drivers die at the scene less than a mile from the Hargroves’ home.

Joshua’s passengers survive in this world, and so does his legacy. Through his life on Earth, Joshua sought and worked very diligently to know and keep close to Jesus Christ. He lived out the Great Commission by drawing others to Jesus as well, causing countless peers to change their spiritual compass to point toward Heaven.

Joshua Blake Hargrove was and is a joy to everyone who encounters him and his story because he loved Jesus and it showed. He was a Christian, baptized at age 16 on his birthday in the Neches River surrounded by a cloud of witnesses.

He decided to enter the ministry and make a career of serving Jesus Christ only moments before the crash, the day he died.

Joshua did begin a ministry. His life testifies to the joy of Christian living and devotion to a God who loves and guides us every moment of our lives until, in His infinite wisdom, He sees fit to take us home. Joshua’s ministry lives on today, and we can’t wait to see him again on the other side.

We, the family and friends of Joshua Blake Hargrove, welcome you this memorial website where you can learn more about the life and legacy of a remarkable young man.
